LEGO Model Building

As a LEGO Model Builder, I have the unique opportunity to transform concepts into tangible works of art, bringing the awe-inspiring models found at LEGOLAND parks and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers to life. The projects I work on are diverse in size, style, and difficulty, with each one presenting its own set of creative and technical challenges.

My role as a builder involves taking detailed 3D renderings and designs provided by the design team, and carefully constructing the models from scratch using LEGO bricks. There are no step-by-step instructions to follow, instead I rely on my knowledge and problem-solving skills to determine the best way to assemble each model. This process requires flexibility and creativity, as there are countless approaches to achieve the final model.

As a builder, I am not just focused on the aesthetics of the model, but also on its functionality and structural integrity. I serve as a kind of engineer, tasked with ensuring each model is not only visually stunning, but also robust and secure. This includes designing custom internal structures to support the model’s weight and stability, as well as incorporating hidden access panels for maintenance and ensuring accessibility for lighting and other technical features. Every detail, from the largest architectural structures to the smallest decorative elements, must be carefully considered to create an experience that is both immersive and durable for visitors to enjoy.
